(Classified as wooden ketch: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as October 1928). Castle Varech: this vessel stranded at Tongue Island, and became a constructive total loss.
Registration: Wick. Built 1898. 41grt. Length: 19m. Beam: 6m.
(Location of loss cited as N58 33.0 W4 25.0).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Tongue Island is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but is probably to be equated with one of the Rabbit Islands, to the W of Tongue Bay.
