Full Description

NM55SW 8019 unlocated
NLO: Sound of Mull [name centred NM 58 46].
(Classified as brig, with cargo of foundry sand: date cited as 3 January 1860). Unknown: this vessel was seen abandoned in the Sound of Mull.
(Location cited as N56 35.0 W6 0.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.
The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, being derived from the unverified location of loss that is cited by Whittaker. The vessel may have been sighted within the quasi-administrative area defined as Maritime - Argyll and Bute. The date cited is presumably that of report, rather than loss.
It remains unclear whether and where this vessel subsequently stranded or foundered.
