(Classified as wooden dandy, in ballast: date of loss cited as 17 May 1913). Queen Bess: this vessel stranded [at the] mouth of [the] River Naver.
Registration: Great Yarmouth. Built 1886. 72 tons [unspecified].
(Location of loss cited as N58 31.67 W4 14.5).
I G Whittaker 1998.
The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The available accounts presumably indicate that the loss took place at or near the ill-defined mouth of the River Naver, which debouches into Torrisdale Bay at NC c. 69 61, opposite Bettyhill. The area is one of extensive (and presumably migratory) sand dunes.
