Full Description

NB91SE 8001 c. 970 120
N58 3.1 W5 26.4
NLO: Isle Ristol [name centred NB 972 112]
Loch Broom [name centred NH 10 93].
(Classified as M[otor] F[ishing] V[essel]: no date of loss cited). Cornelius (possibly): name of fishing boat lost at the North end of Isle Ristol.
(Location of loss cited as N58 3.0 W5 26.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.
The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative, being derived from the unverified location of loss that is cited by Whittaker. The vessel presumably stranded.
Isle Ristol lies on the N side of the broad entrance to Loch Broom, to the N of the Summer Isles.
A date of loss within the 20th century appears appropriate to a vessel of this type.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 13 October 2008. <1>
