Full Description
In November 2008, a session about the HER was held with the Young Archaeologists Club. The children were invited to bring along photographs of sites near them. Lewis Mackenzie brought along some photographs of a ruined farm steading near Tarvie, overlooking Loch Garve. This was possibly the house of one of his relatives. Lewis thinks that some modern repairs have been carried out because there is some cement covering the walls. There is still some turf on the roof and there is wood where the door was. The fireplace is still there and Lewis found a horseshoe and a hook for a pot to go over a fire. <1>
