Full Description

A rectangular structure of low rough rubble walling is tucked into the rock face on the SE bank of the stream where the gorge widens briefly (Photos 18 and 19). This is in the style of a shieling structure and the gorge offers a small, secure and sheltered location. It is, however, very close to the main area of the settlement and may be a day shieling, possibly assocaited with the peat cutting. <1>
