NG55SW 3 508 533.
NG 508 533 Upon the banks of a small stream, below the Old Man of Storr, at 750 feet OD, are the remains of about 7 ruined shielings. They appear as green mounds with some loose stone. There are one-and two-cell structures.
Visited by OS (A S P) 27 April 1961.
This site was visited during survey in 1994. It was only possible to relocate two single cell turf and stone shielings,lying on the west bank of a small burn. The other 5 structures recorded by the Ordnance Survey in 1961 were unlocateable. <1>
