Full Description
This is the dyke recorded on the 1st edition OS map as running south from the building west of the dwelling house (Photo 48-53). The northern section is only visible as a low earth bank but after about 20m, set stones begin to emerge. At NC 04072 26817, two pointed stones set on end and about 3m apart may be a former gateway. <1>
A section through this dyke was observed during the subsequent watching brief but no conclusions could be drawn regarding the date of construction. <2>
