Full Description

A watching brief took place during the digging of foundations for an extension to the house. The buried remains of a wooden barrel with iron hoops were seen set vertically on end in one of the trench sections. This is likely to be associated with the 19th-century or later occupation of the house. The barrel lay entirely outwith the foundation trench and was not investigated further. <2>
