Full Description

The remnants of an extensive area of lazy bed or perhaps rig cultivation lying amongst mature Ash trees and Hazel saplings. The beds/rigs are 3.00 meters wide from furrow to furrow and run in a north-west to south-east direction up and down the slope. Clearance cairns lie at both the head and foot of the beds/rigs. The remains of ploughed through clearance cairns at many points on the hillside suggests that prior to the forestry planting this type of cultivation may have covered the entire hillside and the level ground below. <1>

Archive report includes plans, recording sheet and photographs. <2>

Noted during the original survey of Leitir Fura in 1996. <3>
