Full Description

An area of rig and furrow, in proximity to the broch and cairn, was noted at this location during a walkover survey by Paul Humphreys. A set of features, apparent as amorphous earthworks, was also photographed and interpreted as settlement features. It is postulated that these represent part of the same rural settlement represented by features to the east, within the boundary of the wind farm.
The extant structures, which are believed to be the township of Borrowstone, have been truncated by the improvement landscape associated with Borrowstone Mains farm. <1>, <2>
