Full Description
A double circle of stones is situate at Teynandruineach farm, about a mile west from Dr. MacKinnon's house Kyle House, at NG 7447 2657). <1>
No local knowledge of the name Teynandruineach.
Visited by OS (R L) 10 September 1971.
The only general location where this site could have been is an unnamed sheepfold on the OS 1st Edition map. On vertical aerial photography the immediate area shows evidence of former cultivation so a farm almost certainly preceded the sheepfold which was probably created out of the former farmhouse and/or associated buildings. It is not surprising that the OS field officer found no local knowledge of the site's name in 1971 as the farm would have gone out of use before the OS 1st Edition was published.
