Full Description
In 2009 Forestry Commission Scotland commissioned C Shepherd to undertake a survey and assessment of those parts of the 18th century Military Road network crossing the National Forest Estate in Inverness, Ross & Skye, Lochaber and North Highland Forest Districts, in order to enable it to develop sustainable management strategies. During the survey of Ratagan Forest, avery tall stone revetment overlying stone culvert was recorded and photographed. The culvert was probably early with the revetment being a later feature to level out the road. The road was approximately 4m wide at this point. <1>
