Photographs of the Alexander Bain Memorial at Watten were submitted to the HER by Martin Briscoe via our Flickr group. The inscription reads as follows:

INVENTOR OF THE ELECTRIC CLOCK
AND THE
ELECTRIC PRINTING-TELEGRAPH
BORN AT LEANMORE
PARISH OF WATTEN, 1810
DIED AT KIRKINTILLOCH, 1877 <1>
