Full Description
A milestone bearing a cut benchmark and the inscription ‘1 MILE FROM THE LIGHT HOUSE’. The milestone stands at the side of the road to Dunnet Head Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1831 and the road was constructed at the same time. The milestone is likely to date from then.
