Full Description

A shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Allt Beithe, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. The stone-built multi-cell structure was located to the west of a burn. Dimensions: north cell 2.5m diameter; central cell 5m diameter, south cell 3m diameter over walls 0.7m wide and 0.6m high. There was a 0.5m wide entrance in the north-east corner of the central cell and the south end of the south cell. <1>
