Full Description
An experimental vernacular building (a turf house) was constructed off Manse Road, Kingussie, by Kingussie Folk Museum in the early 1980s. A section of its footings (feature 2) was re-located in trench 2 during an evaluation on Manse Road, Kingussie, by RoCAS in 2012. The remainder of the building is no longer extant. Only a portion of the wall footing, as exposed in trench 3, was recorded and it is not known how much remains outwith the trench. However, the location of the gable walls could be seen on the ground and the location of the whole house was recorded. <1>
