Full Description

Two possible shielings were noted by RoCAS during a 2012 DBA and walkover survey in advance of a woodland creation scheme. The southwest feature was described as a moss and grass-covered circular hollow that measured 3m diameter. The very degraded remains of a possible turf bank to the northeast side indicated that it may have been a structure, a possible shieling. The northeast feature was located on a slight terrace above the burn. It was described as a moss and grass-covered circular structure with a central hollow, measuring 2.5m in diameter. The very degraded remains of a stone or turf bank spread 1-1.5m were visible along the northwest side with a possible annex. <1>
