Full Description
Several WRNS buildings were noted by ARCH's Evanton Wartime Remains project in 2013. The 1946 aerial photo clearly shows a variety of military buildings and huts to the east of Novar House. Some were constructed of timber and others concrete portal frames with hollow block infill. These were used by the WRNS personnel. A photograph from Alness Heritage Centre appears to show these barracks. WRNSs were also housed in Novar House. Contributors: Eddie Szymborski, Catriona Fraser, Alpin MacDonald, Roddie Lovett, Alasdair Cameron, Alan Kinghorn. <1>
