Full Description

A stone built shelter at bay McNeil, of unknown date. The site has stone built walls: approximately 5m in length, 2m in width and 1m in height.

Built under 3m high cliff overhang, open at bay end, L-shaped wall of stones which may have been roofed to provide a shelter. This bay was used for the import of cattle from Barra to be driven to market along drove roads, ? To Falkirk, so it may have been a shelter for the drovers. <1>

The site was visited and photographed by Jon Haylett on the 3rd of November 2013. <1>
