Full Description

A C18-C19 farmstead or steading with an associated well and sand pit. The building appears on the 1st edition 25 inch OS Map and so dated to, at latest, c.1870. <1>

Photographic recording of the site was carried out in April 2011 by Adam Da Silva in relation to a planning application. It was built on sand and has solid granite walls, the roof was sarking under slate, although it was re-roofed in 1890. It appears to have always been owned by the Lethen Estate. <2>
