Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by John Wombell, Anne Coombs and other members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS) in April 2013 over 2.5 days of an area of Dirr Wood near Dorres. This investigation was carried out to try and put the then recently discovered late Bronze Age hoard at Dores into context with potential sites in the surrounding landscape. A linear clearance bank measuring up to 45m in length, comprising of a series of cairns, linear boulders and stone clearance forming a boundary [Feature number BJ/F7]. This site was of an unknown date. <1>
