Full Description

A walkover survey was carried out by John Wombell, Anne Coombs and other members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS) in April 2013 over 2.5 days of an area of Dirr Wood near Dorres. This investigation was carried out to try and put the then recently discovered late Bronze Age hoard at Dores into context with potential sites in the surrounding landscape. The remains of a possible stone structure with an internal diameter measuring 5m, boulder footings set like the stones of a kerb cairn tacked onto the eastern side of feature F104 [Feature number JW/F108]. <1>
