Full Description

A ruined stone building and small outbuilding at Tigh Mor were subject to basic building recording by K Bryers in 2006. This is probably a ‘Colby Camp’, named after Thomas Colby, Director General of the Ordnance Survey, 1820-46. Several high camps were established to support triangulation survey work. The peaks close to this camp have good intervisibility with the main triangulation site in the area on Mam Sodhail to the north<1>
