Full Description

A possible hut circle at Torr Garve, near Applecross.

The possible hut circle was visited by A Welti and H Keiro in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross. This was part of a degree course overseen by Aberdeen University. This possible HC may be part of a cluster of 6, with this being a 7th with the others HK010 (see MHG57807) and HK009 (see MHG57806) sited 500m S of the Applecross broch and campsite, and together with HK012 (see MHG57809), HK011 (see MHG57808), HK013 (see MHG57811) and BB500 (see MHG57814), are all on or around the same contour (70m to 76m) in a narrow plateau stretching S from HK010 and passing to E of Tor Mor. It is near to BB500, is very ruined, with an internal diam approx 5m, at NG71513 43498. <1> <2>
