Red Burn 1
To the south of the A850, close to where it bridges the Red Burn, at a height of 45m OD, are the ruinous remains of a long-house and byre. Set on top of a knoll the long-house, which measures 15m NW-SE by 5m NE-SW, has walls of stone and turf 1m wide. A door opening 1m wide lies in the NW end wall.
The byre which abutts the southern end of the SW wall, shares this wall with the long-house, it measures 8m NE-SW by 5m NW-SE. The byre walls are of stone and turf construction 1m wide, a door opening lies in the centre of the NW wall.
