A hut circle at Torr Mor.

171111 842412 Torr Mor 6 HK020: The hut circle was visited by A Welti and H Keiro in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross. This was part of a degree course overseen by Aberdeen University. This circular HC sits on a knoll or ridge, with the platform on a very gentle slope from N downslope to S. There are several field boundaries on the nearby slopes, and a possible platform nearby. The HC may be associated with HK019 (see MHG57900), at 200m distance. Average interior diameter is 5.25m, exterior diam is 9.7m. The double skinned wall is 1.3m thick and max height is 0.3m. External entrance width is 1m, and entrance length is 2.5m, indicating extended entrance terminals. Views are panoramic over land and sea. <1> <2>
