Full Description
A hut circle at Ormiscaig.
185913 891281 Ormiscaig 4 JAN004: The hut circle was visited by A MacInnes in 2013 as part of research on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. This HC sits on a S facing gentle slope, on a platform built up from the slope. It enjoys panoramic views. Average internal diameter is 11m, external diam is 14m. The double skinned wall is 1.5m thick, max height 0.6m. A probable entrance faces E, entrance width internally is 1m, externally is 1.2m, entrance passage length is 2.5m, indicating the possibility of an extended entrance. There are possible burial cairns beside JAN002 (see MHG57924), within 1km of this HC. <1> <2>
