(NG 3731 5378) Dun (NR)
OS 6"map, (1969)
A dun situated on the brink of a low cliff at the S end of a ridge. It is sub-circular on plan measuring overall 19.2m N to S by c. 18.0m transversely (Visible on RAF air photographs CPE/Scot/UK/175: 4241-2). The outer face, c. 1.0m maximum height, survives round the whole of the N arc and intermittently elsewhere but the inner face is not evident. The wall appears to have been c. 3.0m thick where best preserved towards the entrance in the W which is defined by a gap with no structural details visible.
The interior of the dun is occupied by the turf-covered remains of three recent structures. Below the cliff to the E is another with a contemporary wall.
Visited by OS (A S P) 23 April 1961 and (R L) 5 October 1971.
