Full Description

The possible site of dairy at Bonar Bridge.

In 2014 ARCH provided a number of courses, field trips and other activities exploring and researching the remains of the 19th century engineer, road and church builder Thomas Telford. A project was undertaken in Kyle of Sutherland, during which many sites, not all related to Telford, were visited and photographed by participants. There was a dairy situated next to the Caledonian Hotel (formerly known as the Commercial Hotel) and its site is possibly under the Caledonian Hotel extension. Dairy farming took place on the fields to the north of Bonar Bridge between WW1 and WW2. <1>
