Full Description
This capstan is set in a circular stone setting base which has concrete extensions and measures 1.2 internal (2m external) diameter. The capstan itself is 0.5m high and the top part, which has a diameter of 0.8m, has 4 slots around its edges and 4 holes for stowing the poles. This capstan may have been re-sited from a position 50m to the SE where a previously recorded capstan (MHG53346) is now no longer extant. <1>
