Full Description

NG35NW 8 3444 5534.

This peat-covered hut-circle is situated on a terrace on the SW flank of one of the hillocks that form the spine of the Greshornish peninsula; it measures about 9.6m in internal diameter with an entrance that is probably on the ESE. For most of its circuit the wall forms a low mound on the surface of the peat, but on the N it is no more than an internal scarp. To the ENE of the hut-circle an orthostatic wall can be traced across the slope for a distance of about 60m (NG 3448 5537 to 3453 5534). A further length of wall crosses the gully to the SE (NG 3452 5530). A short distance beyond the latter a small pen has been built against an outcrop on the SW side of the gully.
