Full Description
A round ended structure was recorded during an NTS pre-afforestation survey of Kintail and West Affric in 1997. It measured 8m by c. 4.5m over walls spread in places to c. 0.9m wide and c. 0.7m high. It was aligned E/W and sat on a slight grassy terrace overlooking an unnamed burn. The walls had been partially robbed to build a secondary feature, c. 1m square internally with walls c. 1m high and c. 0.5m wide.
The building may date to the period before sheep farming was introduced in the 19th century. It man then have been reused for an illicit still.
Is is presumed to be part of the farmstead to the SE (see MHG59237). <1>
This structure is visible in aerial photography taken 1999-2001. <2>
