Full Description
A substantial wall of large boulders was recorded during an NTS pre-afforestation survey of Kintail and West Affric in 1997. It had been made at a point where the Allt a' Bhuilg had previously burst its banks. It was over 3m wide by 3m high. It had been partially eroded by the burn. It was not shown on any of the OS maps.
This revetting wall was almost certainly built after the building above, at NG 9565 1710, was inundated by flooding some time after the 1874 OS mapping work. <1>
This wall is visible in aerial photography. <2>
