Full Description
A carved stone and possible cairn 1.5km SE of Bynack Stables.
It consists of a stone slab with the initials I:C lying amongst a pile of stones partly built up to define an area which is possibly marking a grave. The style of the lettering on the slab suggesting 18th Century or earlier. It lies at the side of the path about 1.5 km SE of Bynack Stables at approx. NGR NJ 036 095. This path was originally part of a main routeway across the Cairngorms joining up with the Lairig an Loaigh. There is have no reported historical reference to this and Dr Adam Watson, an authority on the Cairngorms, has no knowledge of it. <1>
