Full Description
Two shieling mounds were recorded during an NTS pre-afforestation survey of Kintail and West Affric in 1997. They were located to the west of the Allt a' Choire Chaoil, north of the river Shiel and south of the main road. The mounds were upto 0.7m high, measured c.6m by c.3m and were aligned roughly E-W. Round-ended stone footings 0.8m wide and 0.6m high with turf capping could be seen. <1>
The two buildings are within the area Scheduled by Historic Scotland in 1995 as the Battle of Glen Shiel.
GIS data amended in 2021 according to locations of features as seen on 2020 vertical APs. <2>
