Full Description

Footings for a turf walled structure were recorded during an NTS pre-afforestation survey of Kintail and West Affric in 1997. It was located above the south bank of the Abhainn Gaorsaic c.100m W of the junction with the Allt Coire-lochain. It was largely obscured but was aligned E-W and measured c.4m by c.2m over walls c.0.4m wide and c.0.2m high. The structure was in a secluded location which would not have been suitable for a shieling, but this position might have been good for a deer hide. Alternatively the structure could have been used as a still. <1>
