Full Description
A rectangular structure was recorded during an NTS pre-afforestation survey of Kintail and West Affric in 1997. It was located on the S side of an unnamed burn, built against 2 large boulders and measured c.1m wide with walls c.0.6m wide and c.0.4m high. An irregular stone dyke c.0.6m wide and c.0.2m high formed an enclosure c.11m long by c.1-3m wide around it. Though it was in a grassy flush potentially suitable for a shieling, no other buildings or structures were noted. It was possible that other building had been overgrown or washed away, but it was also possible that this was a single structure and the remains of a still. <1>
