Full Description

A Royal Navy Direction finding post is located on a ridge to the E of the crofting township of Sheigra and N of Blairmore. The post is accessed by a concrete path leading from a track which runs NE from Blairmore. There may have been a hut base where the path leaves the track (NC 19806 60522).
The path runs for c.200 uphill towards the post. The post comprises one upstanding brick building, and the fallen remains of a smaller second brick building. It appears to overlie a series of concrete posts or pillars laid in a grid c.13m by c.6m transversely. The exact nature of these posts or pillars is unclear, but thery may have supported an earlier building.
Extending outward from the upstanding building are four cable trenches each leading to a mast base. Each mast appears to have been supported by four anchor blocks for guy ropes.
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) and Martin Briscoe 28 May 2013.
