Full Description

A possible cairn close to the Cam Loch was recorded by members of Historic Assynt on a south facing steep slope. Seen from either east or west it presents the classic profile of a cairn utilising the side of a hill. Across the top is a well established animal track revealing small and medium sized loose stones and what could be bedrock or well embedded orthostats. It is 5.5m E-W but with the tumble down slope it is 9m N-S . The tumble also seems to incorporate outcrops of bedrock. There is not enough diagnostic evidence visible to allow a firm identification one way or the other. Historic Assynt's grid reference is recorded incorrectly. <1>
