Full Description
Fort Augustus, Ardchattan GR NH 37809 09209 (NE corner)
A building of one and a half storeys which is to the north of the locks and on a ENE-WSW alignment, measures 13m x9m. It is constructed of stone and has a slate roof with 2 dormer windows. An outshot to the rear/north is constructed of breeze blocks and has a wooden porch. There is also a timber and brick porch at the front/south side of the building. The building is now a visitor centre and has 3 flag poles in the front garden. Recorded in 2014 as part of RCAHMS Scottish Canals Recording Project. <1>
