Full Description

Site of Railway Swing Bridge centred on NH 37604 09140.
This site is located on the line of the old railway track where it would have crossed the canal. A railway station has been recorded on the south bank of the canal and a railway bridge, MHG38555, is on the north bank of the canal. No evidence of the railway swing bridge, reputed to have been hand operated, is seen at this location today. Recorded in 2014 as part of RCAHMS Scottish Canals Recording Project. <1>
