Full Description
A township comprising seven roofed, two partially roofed, three unroofed buildings and a field-system is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xcii). Twelve unroofed buildings and a field-system are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1970).

A walkover survey of the area around Doire-chlaigionn was undertaken by Macinnes, A. and Doe, T. in 2014.
Site 9. Ruin with two compartments, possible house and barn connected to Site 8 (see MHG60550) by stone pavement. There is a definite entrance, and rounded corners but no evidence of a chimney. There is a small building to the rear built into the bank. Just beside this ruin under a boulder there is a shell midden. <1>
