Full Description

A township comprising seven roofed, two partially roofed, three unroofed buildings and a field-system is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xcii). Twelve unroofed buildings and a field-system are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1970).

A walkover survey of the area around Doire-chlaigionn was undertaken by Macinnes, A. and Doe, T. in 2014.

Site 12. A ruin with its rear wall built into the slope. It has a definite entrance, and the walls are well constructed with layered chosen stones. In front of the ruin is a stone pathway, and there is a platform built out from the path. A possible house. <1>
