Full Description

NG26SE 4 2662 6270.

There are seven shieling-mounds, measuring up to 17m by 14m, situated at the rear of a slight terrace, set back from the cliffs, on the E side of Waternish, immediately to the S of the valley of the Abhainn a' Ghlinne. They are aligned approximately from N to S along the contour, and, with one exception, all have some trace of structures on them.
On the terrace to the ESE of the mounds fragments of sub-peat dykes were observed. To the W, low boulder banks effectively enclose the next terrace inland. The relationship of the banks to the peat is no clear, although at least some stretches post-date the peat. The banks may relate to those running out from Geary, although again the nature of the relationship is not clear.
