Full Description

A project surveying and recording the archaeological sites within the grounds of Castle Leod was carried out by members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS) in the winter of 2012-13.

Site 17. A scooped area of 20m x 20m, with an extension to the east, is recessed into the slope and has upcast material on its N and W side. It may be a stone quarry or it may be the “trial made for coal” marked on 1762 map. <1>
