What appears to be a track from the settlement of Achterneed to the “Offices”south of Castle Leod is depicted on the 1762 map. On the FE OS map of 1872 the line is used by the Achterneed Burn which on the 1762 map runs down the side of the present road south of Achterneed. <1>
