"Embo fishing fleet, after the war (1914-18) due to so many not returning and the migration of the herring that the boats constituting the fleet were taken round to loch Fleet and burned?". Memory of Richard Easson, Tain
As part of the Scotland’s Coastal Heritage at Risk Project (SCHARP) in 2014, a survey was carried out of a boat graveyard at Loch Fleet in partnership with the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NoSAS) and the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS).
Vessel O. Remains of a wooden fishing boat. Remains scattered over an area of 11.4m by 4.5m but original length not seen; keelson intermitently visible. 10 in situ frames, 1 detached frame, 4 in-situ floors (oak). <1>
