Full Description

A hut circle at West Shebster, Caithness.

A hut circle identified in LiDAR data gathered by AOC Archaeology in 2011 as part of the mitigation for the visual impact on the archaeological landscape associated with the proposed Baillie Hill windfarm, Caithness. Small circular depression c.15m in diameter; possible hut-circle close to modern forestry. <1>

In the LiDAR data, a second, smaller square or sub-circular feature c.7m across adjoins the hut circle on its southwest quadrant [IS-L 28/05/2020].
