Full Description
A ruined farmstead at Achnacly, Caithness.
Unroofed building identified in LiDAR data gathered by AOC Archaeology in 2011 as part of the mitigation for the visual impact on the archaeological landscape associated with the proposed Baillie Hill windfarm, Caithness. <1>
There are clearly two buildings visible in the LiDAR data althouhg only the longer of the two has been identified. The buildings are shown as roofed on the OS 1st Edition 25" map, with a thitd, smaller building shown as unroofed c. 40m to the southwest. The farmstead is labelled 'Achnacly [IS-L 20/07/2020].
